How do I create a pet?
To create a pet, simply click on the Create Pet link in the navigation bar. You have several different choices of what type of pet in which to create.
What options do I have when creating a pet?
When creating a pet, you have the options of choosing their name, height, weight, and sex. But remember, you can't use a name if it's already in use. Your pet's name can only be made up of letters and numbers.
How do I take care of my pet?
Your Pet needs to be supported with food, toys, and books.
Food: Food can be purchased at the main shops different worlds, or it can be purchased from other users. Your pet cannot die of hunger but it is a good idea to keep your pet fully nourished.
Toys: Toys can be purchased at Darions Toy Chest in Luraina, or it can be purchased from other users. It is important to play with your pets to keep their mood up.
Books: Books can be purchased at Lanira's Book Store, or it can be purchased from other users. Reading books to your pet increases their intelligence allowing them to eventually use spells in battle.
What about if I want another pet?
What is LP?
LP stands for Lura-Points. Lura-Points are the currency used on Lurapets.
How can I increase my LP?
Lura-Points can be increased in each of the following ways:
Games: Games are located in the navigation bar. (Need to include types of games and if there is a time/daily limit)
Restock: Restocking items for your shop is another great way to earn Lura-Points. Simply put in items that you have acquired, set a reasonable price and wait for other users to purchase your items.
Auctions: To put an item up for auction, go to Inventory on the sidebar. Once there select the item you wish to put up for auction. Once you have selected your item, click on the drop down menu and select Put up for Auction. Next, enter how what increments you would like the bids to be in and the starting price. Then wait for people to bid on your auction and your auction to end.
Trade: (need to first know how the trade center is going to function)
Random Events: Random events are events that occur occasionally and can hand out any number of Lura-Points, Pet stat increases/decreases, or items.
Quests: To start a quest, visit a quest helper in one of the worlds. Each world has a quest helper that sends you out for special items. Once you have aquired the needed item(s), return to them for your award. This can be anywhere from LP to items.
Trivia: There will be a weekly Trivia that is released every Sunday at noon Lurapets time. Occassionally a rare item is awarded as the prize.
What are the different Member Levels?
How can I adjust settings in my account?
Your account settings can be adjusted by clicking on Settings on the sidebar. Here, you can edit your profile, change your e-mail address, change your account password and more.
Are there rules to follow on Lurapets?
Yes. Lurapets has Rules and Terms of Service to ensure all play on Lurapets is fair to all members participating. No member is exempt or excluded from following the rules and must stay updated with them even if they change.
You can find links to the Rules and Terms of Service at the bottom of every page. A violation of these rules could result in a warning or a permanent freezing of your account.
What is Lura-Mail?
Lura-Mail is the messaging service used on Lurapets. To access Lura-Mail, click on Maibox in the sidebar. Once there you have the option to send another user a message or receive messages from other users. Once finished with your messages, ensure not to keep them too long or your inbox will get full. When your inbox fills you are unable to receive new messages.
What is the Friends List?
The Friends List is a list where you can add users that you consider friends. The friends list is located at Friends List in the sidebar. It can also be accessed through the Lura-Mail page. A user must be on your friends list in order to send them items.
Can I start my own club?
Yes. To create a club, select Clubs in the sidebar. Then, select Create a Club. You then have options for your Club name, description, logo, and admin levels
Why should I read news?
The news contains important updates about the site. It is updated on a regular basis. To get to the new page click on News in the sidebar.
Can I be a Moderator or Staff Member on Luraets?
Please do not contact us about becoming a member of staff or a moderator. When a position opens, there will be an announcement with a link to an application. If you posses the qualities that we are looking for, you will be contacted for a position.
How can I get more help? (Will be at the bottom of EACH category section)
Members should browse the Help Forum for help, and then make a post for assistance as required. In the event that no reply is made in 24 hours, a member may submit a support ticket.
At no time should a staff member be contacted for "how to" help. Please use the sections of this help guide properly to answer all "How to" questions.
In the event serious errors or problems occur on the website, members should use the Contact Us link found in the navigation bar.
Why can't I logout?
This is a local issue related to your browsers temporary internet files. The logout button removes the cookie which logs you out, but your web browser is loading the pages from the temporary internet files instead of from the server. You can fix this in Internet Exploer by going to Tools, Internet Options, under Temporary Internet Files press Settings, then change the option to "Every visit to the page".
Someone is abusing the site. What can I do?
You can report site abuse by using the support ticket system.
Someone is asking for my password or personal information. What should I do?
Firstly do not delete the message! Contact our abuse department straight away by contacting User Abuse on a reporting support ticket and supply a copy of the message and the URL (address from the address bar) to the message. For more information on your account security please read our Account Protection Information Guide. We appreciate your support in this matter.
Important Information About User Security
Lurapets would like to warn all members about the dangers of giving away account information:
- Never give your account password anyone, not even staff.
- Report any lura-mail and email asking for your account password on a support ticket. Remember, do NOT delete the message!
- Report any suspicious activity straight away.
- Ask a parent or guardian for help if you think something is wrong.
Giving away information may result in your account, LP or items being stolen! Report all violations using the support ticket system.
Staff Members will NEVER ask you for your password or personal information.
